a pair of ultra-marathon-running, travel- and food-loving, optoelectronic engineer friends of mine asked me to design their wedding invitations and save the dates. i couldn't have been happier to take on this project! for the save the date, i incorporated flowers from their old and new home states (they recently moved from north carolina to california), and their families' home countries (france and vietnam).

the invitation, like the save the date, was sent to multiple countries to people who speak multiple languages, so we decided to do a trifold triptych with a panel in each vietnamese, english, and french. at the ceremony, nu wore a lovely traditional vietnamese ao dai. she changed into a beautiful white gown from bhldn for the reception. i didn't really paint her exact dresses for the invite (now wishing i had!! grr!!), but i love the way the card came out.

in addition to the save the dates and invitations, i also painted place cards for the tables at remi and nu's wedding. each table was a place that was significant to them (a place they've lived, a place their family is from, a place they've traveled to together...), and each place card featured a special thing from that place. i spent about 2 months working on these, referencing photos of lots of things i would ordinarily never choose to paint for myself. hope you enjoy them as much as i do!
